Websites that make small businesses look like big ones.
I'm Fraser — a freelance web developer who designs, builds, and looks after modern websites for independent businesses. No agencies, no jargon, no bloated retainers. Just a fast site that works, and someone who'll actually pick up the phone.

A bit about me

Engineering background
Chemical engineering, R&D & process development
Beyond websites
Dashboards, models, spreadsheets & automation
Client-first pricing
No upfront cost, transparent monthly terms
I studied chemical engineering at university, drawn to the idea of solving real, physical problems rather than abstract ones. Most of my career since has been in R&D and process engineering, developing first-of-a-kind processes — the kind with no textbook chapter and no colleague who's done it before, just a lot of careful experimentation and reasoning from first principles.
A surprising amount of that job turned out to be software, not chemistry. I built models to predict how chemical reactions would behave — reaction rates, yields, the kind of thing that's far cheaper to get right on a screen than in a multi-million-pound reactor. That's really where I learned to code properly: not from a bootcamp, but from needing tools that didn't exist yet and having no one else around to build them.
That habit followed me around the office. When I noticed how much time my team lost to clunky spreadsheets and manual handoffs, I started building things to fix it — scheduling tools, live dashboards, Excel models that did in seconds what used to take an afternoon, and automated email monitoring that flagged problems before anyone had noticed them. Over time that turned into a second skill set alongside the engineering: if a business runs on software, I can usually make it run better.
These days I still work in process engineering, and I take on websites and business software for people who want the same thing my own team wanted — something that just works, built by someone who actually understands what they're building and why.
What I do
Everything you need to launch and maintain a website that actually converts.
Custom Website Design & Build
A fully custom site designed around your brand and your customers — not a recycled template. Built for speed, mobile, and search engines from day one.
Ongoing Support & Hosting
Once your site is live, I keep it that way. Hosting, security updates, small content changes, and a direct line to me whenever something needs attention.
Payments & Online Stores
Take payments, bookings, or deposits directly on your site with a secure Stripe integration — set up properly and kept running.
Growth & New Features
As your business grows, your site can too — booking systems, member areas, integrations, and redesigns, scoped and quoted individually.
Google Business Profile
I'll set up and optimise your Google Business Profile — details, photos, reviews, and local search visibility — so customers can actually find you.
Custom Solutions
Got something specific in mind — an internal tool, a client portal, an integration with another system? Tell me what you need and I'll scope and build it.
Inventory Management
Stock levels, reorder points, and multiple locations set up in a proper system — so you always know what you've got, without a spreadsheet held together with formulas.
IoT & Smart Devices
Smart plugs, sensors, and connected devices set up and configured for your home or business, with everything actually talking to each other.
Whatever your business runs on
Websites are what I'm usually hired for, but they aren't the limit. Most of my background is building software that makes businesses run better — so if it touches your operations, it's worth asking.
Modelling & forecasting
Predictive models built on your actual numbers — costs, demand, capacity, process behaviour. The same modelling work I do in engineering, pointed at your business.
Spreadsheets & Excel
Complex workbooks built or rescued: formulas that don't break, automation instead of manual copying, and a layout someone else can actually pick up.
Dashboards & reporting
Live dashboards that pull your numbers into one place, so you're looking at what's happening now rather than last month's export.
Smartsheet & QuickBooks
Setup, cleanup, and integration with the tools you already pay for — so they talk to each other instead of each needing their own re-typing.
Automated email monitoring
Alerts that watch an inbox or a system and tell you when something needs attention, rather than you remembering to check.
Presentations & documents
Board packs, client proposals, and reports that look like they came from a much larger company than yours.
If it's business software and it isn't on this list, ask anyway — the answer is usually yes.
How it works
Four steps from first conversation to a site that's live and looked after. No jargon, no long contracts.
- 01
A quick chat
Tell me about your business and what you need the site to do. Fifteen minutes on the phone is usually enough. Costs nothing and there's no obligation.
- 02
I design it
I put together a design based on that conversation and show it to you before a line of code is written. You tell me what to change. We go round until it's right.
- 03
I build and launch it
I build the site properly, test it on real devices, connect your domain, and put it live. You still haven't paid anything at this point.
- 04
I look after it
From launch, it's £30/month for hosting, updates, and small changes whenever you need them. Cancel whenever you like — the site is yours.
Sites I’ve built
Each one designed from scratch around the business it belongs to. Click through and have a proper look around.

Sharp & Co.
Dark, confident, and built around one thing: getting the booking. Traditional barbering with a modern edge.

Marlowe & Fig
Warm, unhurried, and appetising. A menu that reads beautifully on a phone while someone decides where to have lunch.

Redline Auto
Straight-talking and built on trust. Clear pricing, obvious phone number, and no mystery about what anything costs.

Wren & Ore
An online shop with a working Stripe checkout — products, a bag, and real card payments wired up end to end.

Scribble
Not a website but a working tool — draw, pick your pencil, then save and reload your drawings. Built to show apps are on the menu too.

Hearth
A working engineering model, not a calculator. Describe a building and it solves the heating cost by the day, by the month and by the year — then ranks what would actually cut the bill.

Bulletin
A company blog with real logins and two permission levels — admins publish and manage settings, viewers can only read. Log in as either to see the difference.
Simple, honest pricing
No large upfront bill and no surprise invoices. You only start paying once your site is live and working for you.
Launch
Your website, designed and built, before you pay a penny upfront.
- Custom design, not a template
- Fully responsive on every device
- Optimised for speed & SEO
- Delivered and live before billing begins
Support & Hosting
Keeps your site online, secure, and up to date after launch.
- Fast, reliable hosting included
- Security & software updates
- Small content edits each month
- Direct support — no ticket queues
Payments Add-on
For sites that take payments, deposits, or bookings via Stripe.
- Secure Stripe integration
- Managed & monitored for you
- Payment issue support
- Add or remove anytime
Larger changes — new features, redesigns, or extra integrations — are always scoped and quoted individually, so you know the cost before any work begins.
Questions people usually ask
The honest answers, before you have to ask for them.
What's the catch with £0 upfront?
There isn't one. I build the site and you see it finished before you pay anything. The monthly fee only starts once it's live and you're happy with it. It works for me because most people stay — and if the site isn't good enough to keep, I haven't earned the money anyway.
Who owns the website?
You do. The design, the content, and the domain are yours. If you ever want to leave, I'll hand over the files and help move it wherever you're going. No hostage-taking.
What happens if I want to cancel?
Give me a month's notice and that's it. No exit fee, no minimum term, no contract to escape from. I'd rather you stayed because the service is worth it.
How long does it take?
Most small business sites take two to three weeks from our first chat to going live. The main variable is how quickly you can get me your content — photos, opening hours, prices, that sort of thing.
Do I need to understand any of the technical side?
No. That's rather the point of hiring someone. You'll never be asked to touch DNS settings or work out what hosting to buy — I handle all of it, and I'll explain anything you actually want to understand.
What counts as a 'large change'?
Small changes — new prices, updated text, swapping photos, adding a page — are included in the monthly fee. Large changes mean new functionality: a booking system, a members area, an integration with software you use. Those get scoped and quoted up front, so you always know the cost before I start.
